Shopkeepers in Bogotá have, for the most part, lifestyles that do not allow them to enjoy a standard quality of life. The extended hours of work, not taking vacations, working and living in the same place, no schooling, the mix of business and personal finances, among other factors, are the facts that do not allow shopkeepers to enjoy recreational spaces, share with their families, or excel professionally. That is why, in the framework of the plan of the Secretariat of Economic Development in Bogotá, which aims at training shopkeepers in the most vulnerable localities of the city, a survey was conducted and the results were analyzed in this document. Within the results of this study, it was found that the time that is demanded by the work of the shopkeeper is the factor that most influences the fact that they cannot have a standard quality of life. This, added to the fact that most of them work in the same place where they live, and open the store every day, does not allow the possibility of other spaces for recreation or other activities
