Abstract

Although some municipalities in Cundinamarca have a wide range of tourist offerings, this is little used by visitors due to the difficulty for accessing information about them. This results in a low number of visits to some of its municipalities and little visibility and recognition of its tourist destinations. It is therefore important to encourage tourists to learn about the different activities they can find in this region, specifically in the area of the province of Gualivá. Therefore, the objective of this project was to implement the ICTs in the tourism sector of this locality. The research used the mixed methodology, structured in the quantitative and qualitative approach; likewise, some elements of Scrum were used to work out the project. With the development of this recommendation system for tourists to choose their destinations, the different services and plans offered by the tourist service providers of each municipality are deployed, and economic growth is promoted at both the individual and regional levels, which allows small providers not only to offer their services easily and efficiently, but also to promote tourist experiences towards a new business model mediated by technology. Through data mining techniques, it is possible to establish user profiles as fundamental axes and to consolidate the engineering design of the recommendation system with the software that will greatly support the promotion of tourist services and the search for new experiences for tourists in the department.
