In this article we want to cover relevant points from the results obtained in the research that we have been working on since 2001: "approach to innovation projects in Colombia". Colombia faces the competitive rea/ity of an incipient industrialization that is not much dedicated to learning and conversion processes ata time when more advanced economies begin their process of unlearning and adjusting, in arder to "route themselves" to scenarios with greater opportunities in terms of value. The time/y identification ofthese scenarios can mean for Colombia the concentration of its innovative effort in the areas of greatest impact in terms ofvalue and competitiveness aggregation in the midterm.
