Abstract

Quimbo hydroelectric power station, located in the department of Huila and having 8000 hectares of natural land, is one of the most important ongoing constructions in Colombia. For its great relevance, this project shows different environmental problems and the socioeconomic situation of the surrounding communities, and for this reason, Emgesa S.A., the contracting company, has shown some mitigation and compensation projects which some inhabitants of this area have perceived them as non- sufficient.
