Una aproximación metodológica al uso de redes sociales en ambientes virtuales de aprendizaje para el fortalecimiento de las competencias transversales de la Universidad EAN
Abstract
The use of social networks would be a potential tool to strengthen communication and collective construction of knowledge in order to encourage collaborative learning where different members of the community interact, create, share and build content and relationships, for all. While new information and communication technologies (ICT), especially social networks are revolutionizing and accompanying methodologies, teaching and learning strategies, there is not a tool to improve itself the learning process. However, the possibilities and challenges of social networks are huge and, along with constant innovation, they could provide new relationship and also communication dynamics to enhance collective and personal learning environments. Based on EAN University educational model and the eLearning Faculty’s teaching system, we study the relevance of implementing a methodology to strengthen students’ generic skills to improve social presence, communication and creation of their own learning environment, based on the active co-creation of content, relationship-building and active participation in learning communities.
