Training of collaborators in companies in the mining-energy sector in Colombia.
A sustainable value proposition
Abstract
The objective of this study is to reflect on the training of collaborators in companies in the mining-energy sector in Colombia, which has great relevance for the country's economy. The research is descriptive with a purposeful nature, establishing guidelines and recommendations to strengthen the training process within the sector under study. To fulfill these purposes, a literature review of the sectoral context was carried out, supported by a panel of professionals and an online survey carried out with more than 100 employees of six multinational companies in the sector. The most representative findings refer to the importance and challenges that training and its transfer pose for all interested parties: on the one hand, the perception of collaborators who establish time, flexibility, methodology and economic factors as the main difficulties for participate in the training process, and give universities preference in both the design and execution of the contents; On the other hand, companies in the sector that recognize the training needs in administrative and operational areas to harmonize the achievement of organizational objectives; and finally, universities and educational institutions in general, concerned with responding to the real needs of companies and society, with training models that transform and adapt to new demands. As a final result, a training proposal is structured under the PHVA cycle that articulates companies, collaborators and universities, recognizing it as a systematic, flexible and sustainable process, so that they generate value for interested parties.
