Use of business simulators as an adaptive learning strategy: an experience in the classroom
Abstract
Currently, the use of games as a support for teaching-learning processes and the model of adaptive education is widely accepted. In this context, the relationship between teacher, student, and curriculum results in a different interaction, in which the evaluation parameters are modified in accordance with the learning experience that is obtained in the classroom.
One way to relate theory to practice in the classroom is to use simulators, tools that allow emphasizing theoretical, practical, and evaluative knowledge, and promote the transferability from an academic environment to a similar working place.
On this basis, the objective of this article is to demonstrate the use of a simulator as a classroom experience within the framework of the management simulation subject, analyzing its evaluation model with respect to the activities and results achieved by the students, through the usage of the licensed software acquired by Universidad de la Salle from the firm Company Game.
