Abstract

This article presents contextual keys for understanding who the new actors in the field of higher education are, besides exposing some of the systemic crises that the programs in humanities are facing. To this end, critical sources on globalization and educational policy are cited, as well as international agreements signed between governments and institutions in different countries. In the context of the commercialization of education and of the possible teaching strategies and non-canonical artistic modes, we examined the relevance of the experimental poetry as an object of study in Humanities. The aim is to offer a space for reflection on the current directions of supranational educational policies that promote the commercialization of education and move away from the traditional concept of culture. The lines of argument start from the framework of cultural studies to focus on the increasingly popular global studies, a paradigmatic axis that currently conditions the evolution of the study of Humanities and changes the traditional concept of liberal arts. The location of Humanities within the framework of global studies generates an ideological distance and multiple crises in education with respect to traditional references and values. The article highlights the case of marginal arts, experimental writing, as the object of study of this new modus operandi. In addition, some educational strategies are proposed and the current state of education in Humanities is explored in depth.
