The following article presents some of the challenges that emerge with the incorporation of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the classroom, compared to traditional models of education, teaching and learning. There is a need for a paradigm shift, in which new technological environments and teaching-learning strategies that enable preparing people for the challengesof globalization are articulated. The foregoing invites to a brief exploration onthe traditional classroom education, its characteristics, limitations, challenges and progressively articulation towards a classroom and curriculum model under the guidelines of the ICT tools.
