This article presents a brief analysis on the perception that students of Computer Technology and Systems Engineering at the University Corporation Minuto de Dios, headquarters located at Calle 80, in their first to third semester have on the use of a circuit simulator as a complement to the educational training provided in the digital electronics course, that develops through real and virtual processes, allowing the student to create spaces for independent and collaborative work, as well as subjecting the theory to test through simulation. This analysis endeavors to identify the preferences of students between making workshops that are established for the subject through the simulator, or develop them through the traditional method of using electronics, financial resources and the time that should be dedicated in each method. Likewise, it will be verified how each of these elements enable students to develop in each phase of the course (Simulation - Practical Laboratory) complementary skills that are applicable to their professional development.
