Study of some theoretical and methodological perspectives proposed in the master's theses that were carried out in the group of Mathematics Education of Universidad del Valle, during the period 2005-2017

This article presents the results of an investigation that aimed at recognizing the use, evolution, and articulation of the perspectives of study that emerge in the research that was carried out in the line of investigation of Technologies of the Information and the Communication for Mathematics Instruction (TICEM by its abbreviation in Spanish) from the area of Mathematics Education in Universidad del Valle, during the period 2005-2017. This was an investigation with a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, which was developed in five phases: search and selection of reference documents, review and determination of structuring elements, data disposition -coding and categorization-, triangulation of the data, and determination of the findings. It was possible to identify the relevance of the theoretical and methodological references in terms of the evolution of the field of mathematics education, as well as their different applications in the process of teaching and learning mathematics. In this sense, the role that pedagogical resources have in the professional development of teachers becomes important.
