Experiencing the design of digital didactic sequences in the subject of Market Research
Abstract
This article discusses the main concepts of designing digital teaching sequences (DTS) for a Virtual Learning Classroom (VLC), based on the Converged Environments Model (MEC-Complexus) of the Distance Learning System (DLS) at Universidad Autónoma de Manizales (UAM). The DTS are used to incorporate Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into contextualized teaching units, with the purpose of promoting learning in a way that the student can learn to link theory with practice in the socioprofessional context, by means of different located learning activities. So, taking into account the applicability of the DTS, this article aims at describing the experience of designing learning environments for the subject entitled Market Research during the second academic period of 2019. The text is developed through the teacher's narrative and interpretation of the process, and allows us to conclude that the design of digital learning sequences is a broad construct that goes beyond simply describing what should be done in a classroom or how the student and teacher make use of ICTs; as integrating technological tools such as television, the Internet, digital teaching materials, academic videos, online literature, and business cases, makes the transfer of knowledge meaningful and helps students understand the importance of studying and applying what they have learned in the classroom in a relevant way.
